My husband and I were in the process of adopting a baby. We had gone through the process, then it was a waiting game. 6 weeks later, as I walked out my back door, I froze, everything around me was “fuzzy”, I had a very intense feeling of happiness. I knew without a doubt a baby girl had just been born. I rushed over to my neighbour to tell her. She of course thought I was crazy, I had the same thought, but it wouldn’t go away. The date was February 5th 1974. 2 weeks later, family services called to let us know they had a baby girl for me. To this day, she and I have a connection that is extraordinary.

John Lennon comes to mind after reading Imaginarium:

Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try

No hell below us Above us, only sky

Imagine all the people Livin' for today

Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for And no religion, too

Imagine all the people Livin' life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people Sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

Well it was really the first animal sign I took notice of. I had been asking the universe for guidance at a difficult time l. I was walking my dog Riley in the woods and a squirrel came half way down a tree next to me. I thought it had stopped because of Riley. It just stared at me, really intently and it went on for ages, so much so it made me feel strange. Eventually it went back up. I thought to myself that is a sign, but in the next breath don't be so ridiculous and spent the rest of the walk talking myself out of it. Luckily when I got home I couldn't help but look up the meaning of squirrel. It was so spot on for what I needed to hear that thankfully I trusted the message and that was the beginning of my journey into omen walking and trusting messages sent to me 🙏

Oh, it really does work that way, doesn’t it! That little squirrel guy really wanted you to notice him - so glad you went home and looked up squirrel’s message.

Me too. It started me down a wonderful path 😀

This is just to point out that ignorance can be an excuse too, at least for awhile. The year was '72 or '73, late summer; my wife and I, having met and married in seminary, had graduated but because of the churchly politics of the time had turned down an assignment. Instead, we packed up our vehicle including two dogs, and set out to find and live in a remote cabin in the mountains, which we did in the Cascade Mountains of Central Washington. We had electricity and running water in the kitchen sink, but no TV reception, so we mostly listened to popular and classical music on our 8-track player (remember those?). I suppose the music could be loud at times, but it didn't seem so to us and besides, we had no neighbors. It was dusk after supper and we were just reading with the music playing when there were three sharp noises clearly indicating that someone was smacking the wall of our cabin open-handed. I went out to check, but of course the dogs slipped by me as I reached for my sheath knife "just in case." By the time I stepped onto the porch the dogs were back on it, busily drinking water and wanting nothing more of whatever they had investigated. I stepped off the porch and around to the side where the noise had happened and, maybe 50 feet away, saw a large form ~ I assumed a man wearing a parka, but the light was behind him and I couldn't see clearly. I shouted, "Can I help you?" The figure turned, looked at me, then turned back and continued up the hill.

Now, we were young and, though very open, not at all versed in spiritual things yet (notwithstanding our being seminary grads), so I finally decided it must have been a bear. A couple of months later one of our friendly forest rangers wisened me up to the fact that our visitor had been a Sasquatch. Dogs can't stand the odor, and only trained bears walk upright; besides,, the fire spotters in their towers had numerous of their own Sasquatch sightings in the area. Many years later Raven became a good friend, as did Wolf; but I've often wondered if Bigfoot was my first spirit kin and I was totally oblivious.

I was taking my dog for a walk one morning about a month ago. It was 730 am and I was so tired so I was just standing there kind of zoned out a bit when a deer ran through the bushes and stopped and looked at me for a few seconds . Mind you I live in San Francisco so this was very out of the ordinary. It ran off and I was left stunned. I had always wondered if maybe deer was my spirit kin/animal. Whenever I feel doubtful I think of that deer !

Several years ago, before I began this journey, my adult daughter was hospitalized for extreme depression and anxiety, and eventually diagnosed as bipolar. But at the time, I was distraught with worry. I stepped out into my back yard and the most beautiful yellow butterfly flew up almost in my face, then landed on my arm for just a second before flying off. But in that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. Everything was going to be okay. I just knew it in my heart. I’ll never forget it, and “now” I know why.
